The contract for the Magnox reactor was awarded to EnergySolutions in June 2007.
EnergySolutions CEO and president David Lockwood said the company has received many third parties interests to purchase the ESEU business, and is considering a number of proposals and transaction structures.
"We are evaluating these alternatives in the best interests of our shareholders, customers and employees," Lockwood said.
The sale consideration proposed by EnergySolutions has not met with any objections from the NDA.
EnergySolutions offers integrated services and solutions, including nuclear operations, characterization, decommissioning, decontamination, site closure, transportation, nuclear materials management, nuclear waste disposition, and research and engineering services.
