The proposed wind power project is to cost around $300m, which includes the costs of the wind farm, substation and transmission line.
Burgos Wind Project, which will deploy Vestas V90-3.0 MW, is expected to generate 233GWh of energy per year, which is enough to power one million homes annually.
Commenting on the project, EDC president and chief operating officer Richard Tantoco said the wind power project is expected to spur the development in Ilocos Norte by attracting more investments and will create more and better opportunities for the residents.
In addition, EDC has inked an EPC Contract and a long term Maintenance Agreement with Vestas.
Currently, the company’s portfolio includes 1,130MW of geothermal and 132MW of hydroelectric plants.
