ENER-G Controls, a division of ENER-G that develops energy management systems for commercial building sector, has acquired the business assets of SmartHome Controls (SHC) as part of its ongoing commitment to enhance and extend its energy management technology.

This acquisition of SHC that designs, manufactures, installs and maintains intelligent heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and lighting control systems to promote energy efficiency in residential properties, will enable ENER-G Controls to gain entry to the residential controls market.

Through this acquisition, ENER-G Control will get access to SHC’s customer and installer base, which in turn will help the company develop considerable growth opportunities in the fast-expanding residential energy controls sector.

The integrated entity, which will introduce a new advanced range of control products in the near future, will provide a one-stop-shop for building controls technology and services for both the new-build market and for the retro-fit and upgrade sector.

ENER-G managing director of energy management division, Dr Cedric Rodrigues said that this deal will allow ENER-G to benefit on a number of levels, including development of control technology, installation of systems, remote monitoring and servicing support from specialist engineers.
