The $147m Phase 6 project adds 40,000 bpd of capacity from the western end of the system to Minot, North Dakota, and 51,000 bpd of capacity from Minot to Clearbrook, Minnesota, where the North Dakota system interconnects with the Enbridge Lakehead mainline system and the Minnesota Pipeline.
Kevin Hatfield, general manager of Enbridge Gathering System, said: “The start-up of this important expansion of our North Dakota System is part of Enbridge’s commitment to provide timely and reliable transportation for Bakken oil production to Midwest markets. We are continuing discussions with our customers to evaluate additional projects to enhance market access options for regional oil production.”
