Elster has received approval from the Slovak Institute of Metrology for its next generation H5000 Woltmann turbine bulk water meter in accordance with European Measuring Instruments Directive 2004/22/EC.

With a measuring range of 1600:1, the H5000 is ideally suited for billing or water distribution applications.

The H5000 meter has an advanced electronic register which includes integrated communications covering a range of industry standard outputs compatible with common automated meter reading/advanced metering infrastructure systems and data-logging equipment.

The company said the H5000, with low-flow capabilities similar to combination meters, provides a metrological performance that ensures accurate measurement of minimum night flows.

Elster global water business senior vice president Tim Gabriel said the H5000 offers customers a solution that provides accurate water measurement in support of both commercial billing and network applications.

"It also simplifies meter selection and helps to provide reliable connectivity for smart metering and other telemetry devices," Gabriel said.

Elster is engaged in advanced metering infrastructure and integrated metering and utilization solutions to the gas, electricity and water industries.
