State-owned power company Eletrosul has requested regulatory approval to take control of four small hydro projects in Brazil.

The plants, located in the country’s southern state of Santa Catarina, have a combined capacity of some 50MW.

Regulators Aneel are expected to approve the sale of the 9MW Itararé plant, the 19MW João Borges, the 15MW Barra do Rio Chapéu project and the Pinheiro project.
