Ekotechnik Czech is set to invest €400m in the construction of solar power plants with a total installed capacity of 160MW in Khmelnytskyi oblast, Ukraine.

The investment will create a total installed capacity of 160MW solar power systems in Khmelnytskyi oblast, as per a memorandum inked by Ekotechnik Ukraine and the local administration.

The proposed photovoltaic units will be installed in 14 districts, which include – Dunavets, Khmelnytsk, Vinkovets, Yarmolynets, Novoushytsk, and Kamianets-Podolskyi amongst others.

Ukrainian authorities will lease approximately 400 hectares of land to the company for the construction of the power plants.

Construction and operation of solar power plants will create 230 new jobs and increase annual revenues to the local budgets by $4.4m.

The Czech company had earlier commenced operations at its first Ukrainian solar power plant at Yasenovka, Khmelnitskyi that had a capacity of 5MW.

With a combined portfolio of 200MW in Ukraine, the company is also keen to undertake solar power plants deployment in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zakarpattia, Vinnytsia, and other regions of the country.
