Egypt is seeking to utilize the land for sustainable energy generation and will invite investors to construct wind power plants with a potential capacity to generate 600MW, Bloomberg quoted the Ministry as saying.

The country, located in Northern Africa, will support future developers by providing six plots of land, each of which comprises an area of 15km² (3,707 acres),

Electricity Minister Mahmoud Balbaa told the news agency in a statement that investors will be entitled to a minimum of 2% of the generated power under auction rules.
