Enel Green Power (EGP), a renewable energy company, has commenced the construction of three wind energy projects totaling power capacity of 193MW in Brazil.

The company is planning to invest around €330m for the projects. Besides, the three projects are 56MW Curva dos Ventos in Bahia State, 80MW Fontes dos Ventos in Pernambuco and 56MW Modelo in Rio Grande do Norte.

The plant in Bahia will have an installed capacity of 146MW, which includes 90MW of capacity for the three plants in construction.

Following the commencement of operations, the wind farms are estimated to generate up to 770 million kWh per year, reducing annual green gas emissions of about 350 tons.

The company has also inked long term power purchase agreement through Brazilian New Energy public in 2011 to provide energy to both the regulated and the free market.
