The British energy supplier said it met all of its energy efficiency targets for the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) and the Community Energy Saving Programme.

The initiative is helping Britons in keeping homes warmer and fuel bills lower in the process. The firm said a typical household could save £310 a year on their bills.

EDF Energy’s Energy Sourcing and Customer Supply MD Martin Lawrence remarked that the energy efficiency initiative helped many households lower their fuel bills and cut carbon emissions.

"By forming close partnerships with local councils and charities, we’ve ensured some of the country’s poorest communities have benefitted from this support," Lawrence added.

EDF Energy, which supplies over 5.5 million customers, claims to be the largest producer of low-carbon electricity in the country.
