France's EDF and Italy's Enel are currently engaged in negotiations with Russia's Rosatom to acquire interest in its new nuclear power plant planned to be built in Kaliningrad, Russia.

Rosatom head of marketing and business development department Alexei Kalinin said Rosatom will certainly hold 51% stake in the power plant.

"We are in talks with at least three potential strategic investors for this plant, inluding EDF and Enel," Kalinin said.

Construction of a first 1082MW unit will be complete in 2016 while the second unit is slated to be complete two years later, reports Reuters.
