French wind project developer Terra Nova has been acquired by Dutch renewable energy firm Econcern.

The 100% take-over strengthens Econcern’s activities in onshore wind energy project development in France and boosts Terra Nova’s investment capacity.

Terra Nova has a project portfolio of 66 onshore wind farms in development in France with a combined capacity of 1 GW. The projects are located primarily in northern France across Picardie, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Champagne-Ardenne, la région Centre, and l’Alsace Lorraine.

Dirk Berkhout, a member of the Econcern board, commented: “With Terra Nova joining the group, Econcern has become a substantial player in the French market for renewable energy.”
