Oil and gas exploration and production company Jubilant Energy has reported the commencement of drilling operations on the DDE-APP-1 appraisal well in the Krishna Godavari Block, offshore India.
The well, located in 101m of water, is the second appraisal well in the Deen Dayal East area of the KG-OSN-2001/3 block.
DDE-APP-1 is being drilled by the Deep Driller-1 rig from Aban Offshore, with the objective of appraising the hydrocarbon bearing sands of KG-16 discovery well.
The target depth of the DDE-APP-1 well is 4750m true vertical depth.
Jubilant Energy holds a 10% participating interest in the block, which is operated by Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation.
