Denmark-based Dong Energy has planned to temporarily shut down production from the Siri platform in the Danish North Sea.

The company said it will transfer all employees to shore due to gale warning and consequently high waves are expected to reach the Siri platform at night between 12 September and the following day.

The employees are expected to be able to return to the platform during 13 and 14 September.

According to the company, supplementary safety precautions in connection with cracks in the platforms subsea structure discovered in 2009 is the cause for the temporary stop of production and the de-manning.

The cracks have led to a significant repair work being performed at present, Dong Energy said.
