Due to low water inflows this year, the water level in the Wokas reservoir has fallen below the river outlet invert level. The reservoir forms part of the Campbell river hydro system in Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, and in order to maintain instream flows for fish in the Quinsam river, BC Hydro has begun pumping water from its Upper Quinsam reservoir to Wokas reservoir.

Water diverted from the Quinsam river supplements the Campbell river system. Each of the diversion dams affects the fishery, and minimum flows are stipulated in the licences issued to BC Hydro to divert flows for power.
