The company has recovered the 91.65 carat gem quality octahedron diamond, while commissioning and processing being executed on material in the +1.0mm to -26.0mm size fraction.

Diamcor is planning to carry out assessment by an independent expert, to know about the quality and color characteristics of the diamond.

Diamcor Mining president and CEO Dean Taylor said the recovery of first gem quality diamond is proving the potential of the project to produce large quality diamonds.

"In addition to its overall size, its’ near perfect octahedron shape is extremely rare and not typically seen in diamonds of this size," Taylor added.

The company is currently in the process of installation of a final crushing circuit at the main plant to increase the processing of material up to 45.0mm in size.
