British oil and gas explorer Desire Petroleum has discovered no hydrocarbons at the 25/5-1 well on the Dawn/Jacinta prospect in the Falkland Basin.

The company has reached a depth of 1,313m at the well, which will now be drilled to the planned total depth of around 1,670m to evaluate the deeper Dawn prospect.

Subsurface support is provided to the company by Senergy (GB) and the recent results on the well are based on the work of the Senergy operations team, Desire Petroleum said.

Desire Petroleum is focussed on oil and gas exploretion in the North Falkland Basin.
