Usa • emissions Harvard School of Public Health reasearch has linked pollution from coal-fired plants to 159 annual deaths. According to the study, pollution from the Brayton Point and Salem Harbor Station facilities, both owned and operated by PG&E Generating Co, can also be associated with more than 43 000 asthma attacks annually. The study, commissioned by an environmental organisation, based its findings on the number of people exposed to pollution from the plants. Observers suggest that the study is more of a risk assessment tool rather than an accurate evaluation of environmental impacts.
