Located in Boulder City, the 250MW project is jointly owned by Sempra US Gas & Power and Consolidated Edison Development.

Cupertino Electric has installed one million photovoltaic (PV) solar modules on the 1,400-acre project. Construction on the project began in 2013.

Electricity generated from the plant will be sold to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and the City of Burbank under an agreement signed with the Southern California Public Power Authority.

The facility has the capacity to meet the electricity needs of 80,000 homes.

Cupertino Electric chief commercial officer John Curcio said: "Having worked with Sempra US Gas & Power previously on its jointly-owned Copper Mountain 2 Solar project as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) subcontractor, we were pleased to continue our successful run on this latest project."

The fixed tilt, ground-mount Copper Mountain Solar 3 is the third phase of Copper Mountain Solar complex.

The existing two Copper Mountain Solar projects are online. With the addition of the third phase the project will have an overall capacity of 458MW.
