Control4 Corporation (Control4) has signed development agreement with eMeter Corporation (eMeter) to deliver Load Management/Home Area Network (HAN) solutions for residential utility market. eMeter’s EnergyIP meter data management system (MDMS) offers comprehensive, enterprise-scale energy information management solution for public utility mass market and commercial & industrial deployment. Control4 will offer software application plug-in to Energy IP for optimal load management capabilities.

A demonstration of the Control4 Home Energy Manager platform and an explanation of the planned integration between Control4 and eMeter will be available in the Control4 booth at DistribuTECH, February 3, to February 5, 2009 in San Diego, California.

“Effective management of the residential energy load is critical to the next generation utility solutions,” said Will West, Chief Executive Officer of Control4. “We are pleased to be working closely with the utility industry leaders like eMeter to offer optimal HAN load management solutions to the utility market.”

eMeter’s EnergyIP MDMS’ flexible, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) extends the value of legacy systems by easily interacting with existing IT infrastructures and delivers state-of-the-art meter data acquisition, information management, and utility process services simultaneously.

“Control4 has transformed home control, and we are excited about their Home Energy Management Platform as a way for consumers to retrieve real-time information on energy usage,” said Larsh Johnson, chief technology officer of eMeter. “With the rapid evolution of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) capabilities, utility companies can be assured that eMeter and Control4 have interoperable products, providing significant value and increased functionality for the utility.”

Control4 will offer a software application plug-in to Energy IP for optimal load management capabilities. The Control4 Home Energy Control platform will let utility companies offer customers an intuitive interface to integrate usage analytics with software and hardware solutions for the home while providing optimal demand response programs supported through EnergyIP. Homeowners can reap energy savings and enhanced control over their energy consumption. In addition, they can have real-time access to information regarding their energy usage.

The Control4 platform is based on standard technologies such as ZigBee, Wi-Fi and Ethernet to facilitate interoperability and integration between the Control4 platform and leading consumer electronic systems in the home, including temperature control, smart lighting, security, home theater, audio and video applications.
