Under the program, the company will manage the city’s home area network and load control programs using its IntelliSOURCE software platform which will integrate with the City’s existing Itron OpenWay AMI system.

City of Wadsworth Director of Public Service Chris Easton said the city has chosen Comverge for the ability to manage complex energy management programs with a technology solution that is comprehensive and proven.

"Because of their success integrating the IntelliSOURCE platform with AMI to manage home area networks, we trusted them to deliver a customized solution that meets the specific requirements of our program, improves our ability to reduce peak demand and provides enhanced services to our customers," noted Easton.

Comverge president and CEO R.Blake Young said Wadworth’s complex requirements and the city’s selection of Comverge is a testament to the ability of IntelliSOURCE to integrate with existing AMI systems.

"We recognize that AMI integration is a significant factor for utilities – especially for those in the public power market," said Young.

"Additionally, the broad range of integrated energy management devices we are implementing at Wadsworth demonstrate the comprehensive solution portfolio Comverge brings to market."

The solution will provide the city of Wadsworth with a single-click control automation system.
