A gas and coal blast in a coal mine in the East Ukraine’s Donetsk Region has killed one miner, injuring three others.

According to the reports from the Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry, the incident occurred at the Shcheglovskaya-Glubokaya mine in Makeyevka town on Sunday.

Three miners, who were trapped underground after the accident, were found by rescuers. About 130 workers managed to leave the site on their own, reported RIA Novosti.

Operations at the mine have been halted, while the cause of the explosion is currently being investigated.
