The KBR technology will be used in the two 1660 metric tons per day ammonia synloop units at China Coal Erdos Energy and Chemical Co in Tuke Industrial Park, Erdos.
With this chemical project, China National Coal Group now enters into the coal-chemical industry.
KBR said that new ammonia plants in China will primarily be based on coal feeds because of restrictions on natural gas supply.
China National Coal Group plans to build five major coal production bases in Shanxi, Jiangsu, Heilongjiang Provinces, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (Yulin) and Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in the next five years.
