Chevron is testing a new fuel payments technology by establishing a network of EasyFuel service stations in Cameroon.

The technology behind the new system comes from On Track Innovations (OTI). The company’s EasyFuel technology provides oil companies with the ability to sign long-term contracts with fleets, assuring the correct grade and amount of fuel is dispensed into an authenticated fuel tank and provides loyalty and contactless payment solutions for both retail and commercial customers.

The EasyFuel system is designed to eliminate fraud and offer security, convenience and functionality for customers.

EasyFuel is about increasing loyalty for Chevron stations while eliminating fraud and increasing the efficiencies of fleet management, noted Oded Bashan, president & CEO of OTI.

The EasyFuel service stations will initially be trialed in Cameroon, with a view to implementing the system elsewhere if the trial proves successful. Chevron also said that plans to implement similar solutions across the rest of Africa and in selected Asian markets are already at an advanced stage.
