Car Charging Group will install Level II, 240V ChargePoint Networked charging stations for EVs manufactured by Coulomb Technologies at Aventura Mall providing 9,400 parking spaces, for public use in the Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s garages.

The charging stations are dual output stations, including 7.2kW output that delivers Level II (208/240V at 30A) charging via standard SAE J1772 connector and 2kW output, providing Level I (120V/16A) charging via a standard NEMA 5-20 receptacle.

The installation of these dual output charging stations that can deliver energy simultaneously to recharge vehicles are expected to be complete by the end of the year, advancing the company’s goal to spur wide spread EV adoption through facilitation of convenient EV charging away from home.

Car Charging leverages various government tax incentives, subsidies, loan guarantees and grants to provide EV charging stations at no charge to property owners/managers by retaining ownership and realizing a percentage of the charging revenue generated.

CCG CEO Michael Farkas said that if the Chevrolet Volt, Nissan LEAF and other mainstream EVs coming to market this year are to be widely adopted, car charging must be integrated with driver’s everyday schedule with robust access to a network of chargers where you eat, shop, play and work.
