US-based Car Charging offers electric vehicle (EV) charging services at US Steel Tower in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, under its partnership with Central Parking Systems.

Car Charging noted that the EV charging services provided at these locations will feature Level II EV charging stations, which provide 240 volts with 32 amps of power to quickly recharge an electric vehicle’s battery.

The US Steel Tower, which is a 64-story office building, provides access to various service providers, restaurants, and retailers including PNC Bank, Au Bon Pain, and Starbucks. EV charging services are now available in the building’s 720-parking space garage.

Commenting on the development, Central Parking official Bob Kohler said that the company is committed to supporting tenants and visitors of US Steel Tower in their efforts to go green, and partnering with CarCharging to provide EV charging services does so, and at the same time, expands the amenity options available to its clients.

CarCharging CEO Michael D. Farkas said, "Electric car sales continue to gain momentum.

"EV sales in July 2013 were 260% greater than the July 2012 figures, and we are proud to continue our partnership with Central Parking and expand EV charging locations in major metropolitan areas."
