Over 100 public interest and community groups in the USA have launched a campaign against the deregulation of the country’s electricity market. Ratepayers for Affordable Green Electricity (RAGE) claim that the liberalization could be at the expense of consumers and the environment.

The campaign claims that deregulation will result in fewer energy companies controlling the supply of electricity in the USA. RAGE intends to promote legislation to prevent utilities from getting bigger, and block their ability to boost profits from residential customers.
