Under the renewed contract, Itron’s Managed Services will provide full suite of services to support British Gas’ over 1.25 million electricity prepayment customers across the UK.

The US-based technology company will provide business to business customer support call center services, prepayment vending transaction management, meter data management, data reporting, technical support, and consulting services.

The contract will run till the end of 2017 and will use Itron’s technology, while British Gas will continue to deliver solutions to its existing and new prepayment customers.

British Gas will also modernize and adapt to the new developing smart metering standards to provide better levels of efficiency, quality of service and customer satisfaction.
