The Madeira river’s 3150MW Santo Antonio hydroelectric plant, part of the Rio Madeira hydro complex in central Brazil, is set to be auctioned by the end of the year.
According to Mauricio Tolmasquim, president of Brazilian government’s energy research company EPE, Santo Antonio will be auctioned after the A-5 new energy auction scheduled for early September. The complex also includes the 3300MW Jirau plant.
