For the same customer, BHEL has earlier executed four units of 250MW each at OP Jindal STPP at Raigarh. Under the current INR50.4 billion contract, BHEL will install four units of 600MW each in this extension stage of OP Jindal STPP, Raigarh.

As reported, BHEL’s scope of work in the contract envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of boilers, steam turbines, turbo-generators and associated auxiliaries along with controls and instrumentation system including generator and station transformers.

BHEL manufactures equipment that can generate 10,000MW of electricity per annum. The company also plans to augment this capacity to 15,000MW per annum, and further raise it to 20,000MW by 2012.
