The company is also slated to supply equipment for the 6X170MW Punatsangchhu-II and the 4X180MW Mangdechhu projects in the near future.
BHEL stated in a release that this project signifies the first major international contract finalized by BHEL’s Bhopal unit.
This project is consistent with Bhutan’s plans to generate 10000MW of hydro power by 2016-2017.
The Indian heavy electrical company currently enjoys a 95% share of the total installed capacity in Bhutan through various projects that include the 4X84MW Chukha project, the 6X170MW Tala project and the 4X15MW Kurichu.
