Bellevue Union School District and Chevron Energy Solutions has completed a 618kW solar power generating system in California, US.

The project was designed, engineered and constructed by Chevron Energy Solutions.

The company will also operate and maintain the solar system’s performance for ten years.

The solar power system is expected to save the district nearly $3.3m over the life of the project.

The solar system is installed at four elementary school campuses and reduces the district’s electrical utility costs by nearly 80%.

Bellevue Union School District superintendent Tony Roehrick said through this project, the district is making its schools better, more environmentally friendly places to learn.
