Canadian hydro developers has announced that BC Hydro has offered to purchase all the power generated from the 30MW Pingston hydro plant located in southeastern British Columbia, a project being jointly developed with Brascan Power.
BC Hydro may also buy power generated from the proposed 25MW Upper Mamquam project.
The 20-year contracts fall under BC Hydro’s Green Energy Projects programme where the company has committed to meeting 10% of new load growth, to 2010, from green energy sources.
