As part of subcontracts awarded by engineering, procurement and construction contractor JKC Australia LNG, BAM Clough is providing the product loading jetty and module offloading facility packages of works for the project’s onshore LNG facilities.

Being built in Batam, Indonesia, the LNG platform will weigh 1,080t with dimensions of 40x39x8m while the LPG platform will be even more substantial at 1,320t with dimensions of 45x40x8m.

The MV SVENJA will be selected by SAL Heavy Lift to load each of the platforms from Batam as well as to discharge on to pile foundations in Darwin harbor.

SAL Heavy Lift Singapore and Asia Pacific managing director Justin Archard said, "We are very excited and privileged to be working with BAM Clough on this important work for the Ichthys Project. Our teams have been working together now for some time."
The first of the two shipments from Batam are scheduled to take place in mid-2014.
