The Azerenergy state power generator in Azerbaijan has indicated that it plans to call a tender to reconstruct the Mingyachaur hydroelectric power plant in August or September this year.

According to the Interfax news agency a company source said that the preparation of a loan agreement to finance the plant’s reconstruction with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is in its final stages. The work will include the reconstruction of generating units and the modernisation of control systems. New power lines and substations will also be built.

The cost of the project will be around US$95M, with the IDB providing US$80M.
