Atwood Oceanics, a company engaged in the offshore drilling of exploratory and developmental oil and gas wells, has promoted Ronald Hall to vice president of operations.
Mr Hall will replace Darryl Smith, who has resigned from his position as vice president of operations.
Mr Smith will continue in a support and advisory capacity within the operations department in order to facilitate an orderly transition until his planned retirement at the end of December 2008.
