Popov has graduated in Physics and Mechanics Department at St.Petersburg State Polytechnic University in 1994. He has studied corporate finances, corporate law and decision making at Brown University In 1991. In 1994-96 Popov has simultaneously studied at Banking Management, International Finances Department of Moscow Banking Institute and the World Economy Department of St.Petersburg State University.
In 1996-99, Popov was deputy director general, member of the board of directors of ??? Shell. And since 2000-03, he was Financial director, member of the board of director of ECO PHOENIX Holding (St.Petersburg-Moscow-Geneva).
