Clean coal production increased by 130% year-on-year, generating 44,633t compared to 19,424t in the corresponding quarter of 2011; the company also sold 33,336t of clean coal, posting an increase of 38%.
Atlantic managing director Steve Best said that the production profile of the company had altered after the completion of the railroad diversion in April 2012.
"These results strengthen our position in the region, and with options currently held over a number of larger anthracite sites, further details of which were contained in our recent interim statement, and each with the potential to enlarge our portfolio substantially, we look forward to the coming months with optimism," added Best.
