Asian Development Bank (ADB) has entered into a partnership with the state of Punjab in Pakistan to establish solar energy projects with a total installed capacity of around 2000MW.

The first solar energy project is anticipated to be completed in a year, while the remaining projects will be completed in two years.

Commenting on the development, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the development of solar energy projects in the state is a major milestone to boost the renewable energy generation in the state.

ADB will also extend its partnership in the development of other renewable energy projects, including coal, biomass, biogas and hydro energy projects, added Sharif.
