The FCVS technology can maintain the integrity of the reactor containment building, in the event of serious accident generating a rise in internal pressure, and will protect the environment by ensuring the confinement of radioactive materials.

The Areva-developed FCVS technology has been designed to meet the requirements of prominent safety authorities and is also compatible with the various reactor types.

Areva Reactors & Services Business Group executive vice president Philippe Samama said, "This new contract confirms our position as a world leader for this technology and demonstrates the confidence of our utility customers. It opens up new prospects for development worldwide."

Till date, Areva has installed more than 70 FCVS systems in 12 countries.

The FCVS solution is developed as part of Areva’s Safety Alliance program, which provides most advanced products and services for nuclear operators to guarantee the safety of their plants.
