Brazil’s National Electricity Agency (ANEEL) plans to auction a build-operate-transfer concession for a new hydroelectric power plant in the Goias state on 27 June 2000. The 127MW power plant is expected to take two years to build and cost R$246M (US$138M). The BOT concession contract is for 35 years and is renewable. According to ANEEL the winner of the concession will be required to pay compensation to five municipalities in the state, which will be flooded by the hydro reservoir.
