As part of the contract, the company will install and commission two large Francis turbines each with an output of 520.3MW with a runner diameter of 5,600 mm and a unit weight of more than 130 t, and of the generators each with an output of 570MVA.
The hydro power station was first commissioned 1976, with four 444MW Francis turbines and generators.
The facility was initially built to accommodate two additional units, which can now be installed as part of the extension project.
