The alliance will develop the solar power project under a Master Renewable Power Purchase and Operating Agreement with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority.
Greenbriar and Alterra will each have a 50% stake in AG Solar One.
Commenting on the partnership, Alterra chief executive officer John Carson said that the expertise of Greenbriar in Puerto Rico will help the alliance in completing the solar project.
"The partnership may pursue other projects together as well, which will bolster Alterra’s external growth plans and complement its internal growth projects such as the Jimmie Creek hydro plant," added Carson.
Greenbriar’s chief executive officer Jeff Ciachurski said Alterra’s experience of owning and operating wind, solar, hydro and geothermal makes the partnership with Greenbriar a fully integrated renewable technology platform."
