Under the contract, Alstom will provide three new stators including poles, brushless exciters, voltage stabilizers as well as the relevant revision services to the plant with contractual work set to be completed in three phases and deliveries expected in the autumns between 2015 and 2017.

Located in the Val de Bagnes, Valais-Alps, the plant, which became operational in 1958, has been using the waters of the Mauvoisin Storage Lake together with the Riddes partner power plant.

Having presented economically and technically feasible solution, complemented with its experience in modernizing projects, the company has secured the contract.

Alstom head of sales and project management service at Switzerland/Germany Christoph Ortmanns said, "This order endorses our strategy to support customers with a full offering in services and retrofit to secure operational reliability of their power plants and to optimize their asset management throughout the plant’s lifespan."
