Sales were up by 4.4% to INR7.11bn ($134m) over the same quarter last year. Operating profit reached 4.6%, compared to a 1.4% rise in the second quarter of 2012-13.

The company said during the third quarter, it won a number of orders from Power Grid Corporation of India (PowerGrid), including the Fixed Series Compensation package at the Wardha 400kV substation in the Maharashtra state, and a 220kV air-insulated substation at Myanmar.

Alstom T&D India has also secured a 400kV gas-insulated substation package for UP BOOT, and another order from Bajaj Hindustan for a large e-BoP package for the 3x660MW Lalitpur power project in Uttar Pradesh.

During the same period, the firm has commissioned several projects, including an e-BoP project for GMR’s Warora power plant, and the 400kV substations for the Jindal power plant at Tamnar.

Alstom T&D India also introduced the world’s first 1200kV double knee type disconnector at Padappai in the Tamil Nadu state for PowerGrid.
