Tianjin Alstom Hydro (TAH) has been awarded a contract for the supply of the complete electro--mechanical equipment for Zi Gang La Ka hydro power station (4 x 38 MW), located on the Yellow river in Qinghai Province, Northwest China.
The contract, awarded by Qinghai AES-TB Power Company, is worth approximately US$17.7M. The scope of supply includes 4 Bulb turbines, generators, governing systems, excitation systems, and control systems. The first unit is expected to enter operation in the second part of 2004.
TAH is a joint venture formed in 1995 between ALSTOM (77%) and Tianjin Power Equipment Manufacture Company (23%). It currently has about 900 employees, including more than 100 engineers.
