Alstom Grid has launched P60 Agile, its new range of intelligent electronic devices (IEDs), during GridTech 2013, the 4th international exhibition in India.

P60 Agile provides a one-box solution for the complete protection, control, recording and measurement of electrical power systems.

Alstom said automating electrical substations implies the automatic acquisition and processing of data coming from the IEDs installed inside the substation.

P60 Agile, which fulfills a set of all-in-one functions, expands the company’s offerings, which were until now aimed at transmission grid operators.

Alstom vice president of Substation Automation Solutions (SAS) Herve Amosse said that the new product has been designed to meet the needs of next-generation smart distribution networks.

"This launch brings customer-inspired new technology and a significant range expansion that will enable us to grow in the distribution market," Amosse said.
