French multinational conglomerate Alstom has commissioned two turbines with a total installed capacity of around 110MW at the Chuzachen hydro power plant in Sikkim, India.

Alstom was awarded the Chuzachen project contract by Gati Infrastructure in 2007. The contract included turnkey execution of Electro-Mechanical package comprising of hydroturbines, generators, BOP (Balance of Plant) and auxiliaries.

Commenting on the project, Alstom India Hydro Unit managing director Frederic Teyssedou said the commissioning of the project is a testament of the company’s business in the hydro power sector.
