The new ASU commenced commercial production in October 2011, producing high purity oxygen, nitrogen and argon for medical and industrial use.

The new production unit enables Air Liquide to expand its supply of nitrogen, oxygen and argon to customers.

The company delivered the products produced by the new unit to its customers via ground transportation and through Air Liquide’s extensive Mississippi River Pipeline system.

In December 2011, Air Liquide announced its agreement to supply Nucor Steel’s new direct reduced Iron facility in Convent.

American Air Liquide Holdings president and CEO Michael Graff said the new ASU in Geismar will serve Air Liquide, its customers, and the people of Louisiana well into the future.
