The project is aimed at deploying and integrating intelligent solutions to improve performance of the electricity network.
Under the contract, ABB will supply high-voltage disconnecting circuit breaker (DCB) and Conventional air-insulated high-voltage switchgear for the project.
DCB integrates the function of a disconnector within the circuit breaker, thus dispensing with the need for two separate products.
The conventional air-insulated high-voltage switchgear consists of the circuit breaker and disconnector as separate components, which require individual installation space.
ABB Power Products division high voltage business head Giandomenico Rivetti said, "This demonstration project contributes to China’s vision of a stronger and smarter grid that is more intelligent, efficient and reliable.
The DCBs supplied for the current project will have additional condition monitoring and other control features incorporated to provide additional ‘intelligence’ at the secondary control level, complementing the intelligence at the primary level.
